Sweet Faces

Sweet Faces

I recently had the privilege of meeting a darling family while attending an event in Maine. The mother shared that her daughter had faced bullying and struggled with self-confidence because of a condition called keratinosis pilaris. Her sweet little face was visibly red and irritated with little white bumps from the build-up of excess keratin in the hair folicles and she explained to me that the kids at her school picked on her.

I walked her through my favorite process for cleansing and exfoliating my face, and gave her a few tips and tricks to make the chore of caring for her skin an enjoyable routine. She and her mother were excited to try the conditioning facial cleaner, detoxifying mask, and the the daily moisturizer for "acne-prone young skin."

Her mother reached out to share an update. She said her daughter is "over the moon" at the changes she's seeing in her skin's overall condition and is becoming more and more confident. She was kind enough to send before and after pics and gave permission for us to share.

I love stories like these; eminders of why our handcrafted products are so very precious. They work. And they are working to help restore confidence in the sweet face of one little girl in Maine.
